Why were we left behind?

This question still goes on after this picture was taken, a question which is still very alive in the head of Romanians and I suppose it will be there forever.

The answer is not easy, nobody knows why this happened, why are we 30-40-50 years behind, instead of evolution, democracy, independent justice and laws, legitimate institutions and so on, we got quite the opposite, starting with corruption at high levels, fraudulent privatizations, the sistem of justice is politically corrupt and the governments that followed the so called „revolution of 1989” have all succeded in destroying this COUNTRY. I didn’t want to make this article politically related, but this is very hard since every bad thing that happened in Romania have been influenced by political decisions.

The first thing that has to be changed in this country, and by far the most important one,is the mentality of the nation, but this has to be a bottom-up process, the change must come from the people, not from the “politicians”. We need to think this clearly and very carefull. By mentality I mean the way in which people think about themselves. It is a monstrous thing that a country like Romania has become a „SLAVE FACTORY„, Romanians are leaving this country and they are going to the western ones, but not to study or to visit, but to work, and they have to work not as medics or lawyers or teacher, but as bartenders, drivers or in the cleaning sector, WHY DID THIS HAPPENED? I know a thing, Romanians are not lazy, give them some thing to do and they will do it,give them qualitative education an they will study, it is simple, but when the sistem of education is at one of the lowest levels in the E.U and when the level of alliteration is one of the biggest in the EU, that is obviously the recipe for a poor country, a country which sends its inhabitants to work abroad, away from their families. This mentality has to be changed, Romanians are not the slaves of the Europeans, we are a proud, beautiful, intelligent nation that has been respected through history, the slave mentality has to disappear from people’s minds, this is the only way through which we can regain some of the lost respect, which we used to have.

The second thing that has to be done in Romania is to change the entire political sphere, what has happened in Romania, and what is happening now is not Democracy, is anarchy by the stupid and the unprepared politicians. People need to realize that, if in 1989, we had as president an intellectual Vaclav Havel in Cehoslovakia, then Romanian could have been a truly democratic state governed by the rule of law. If you close one button at your shirt wrong, then the whole shirt would be messed up, that is what happened in Romania, that is why people do not go to elections but they are brought there, although they don’t have any ideea with whom should they vote, or whom shall they support. It is a shame that WE ALLOWED this to happen, we chose them and they have lied to us and sold us for nothing……
